Growing up in the heart of Arizona, surrounded by the vibrant desert and steeped in my Choctaw heritage, I learned early on the importance of creating spaces where family and culture intertwine. My great-grandmother Vena, a beacon of resilience and grace, taught me what it means to build not just a home but a legacy. She embodied strength and selflessness, graduating as valedictorian in a time when opportunities were scarce and always ensuring that her family felt cared for and supported.
